ACHIEVEMENTS

Cedar Fair has named Craig Grimes to the new position of vice president of food service. Before joining Cedar Fair, Mr. Grimes spent 14 years with Levy Restaurants, most recently as regional vice president.

Two local firms took first place in a district advertising competition, which includes advertisers in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Hart Associates won a gold ADDY for a Toledo Northwest Ohio Food Bank television commercial called "Conveyer Belt." Madhouse won for the Bowling Green State University Stroh Center opening video. They advance to the national competition. Six firms won silver awards: Hart Associates, Madhouse, Adams Street Publishing, Eric Eggly Photography, Level 2 Audio, and Sheroian Associates.

CALENDAR

The Toledo Real Estate Investors Association is sponsoring its annual vendor trade fare Tuesday from 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 4256 Secor Road. Roofing, electric, heating, carpeting, painting, and insurance companies will be represented. Cost: Free.

The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a free workshop from 1-3 p.m. Friday for small business owners about subcontracting opportunities available through TFOME, a contractor responsible for maintenance and operation of NASA's Plum Brook Station in Sandusky.
