BLADE STAFF

LUCKEY — A 42-year-old man was arrested and accused of using a handgun to keep area law enforcement agents at bay for more than two hours after allegedly barricading himself at his Troy Township mobile home late Monday and early Tuesday, authorities said.

There were no reported injuries.

John Spencer was charged with felonious assault, inducing panic, using a weapon while intoxicated, criminal damaging, and domestic violence. He was being held in the Wood County jail pending arraignment 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bowling Green Municipal Court via a video link, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

About 11:18 p.m. Monday, sheriff deputies responding to a report of a barricaded man armed with a handgun arrived at 3561 Truman Rd., Lot 130 and the standoff ensued, sheriff deputies said.

After extensive negotiations, the man came out of the trailer and was taken into custody without incident about 1:45 a.m. He was booked into the jail about 15 minutes later, a deputy at the jail said.
