Authorities have identified Michael Rowan as the driver and Patricia Crawford as the passenger who both were injured Thursday when a car they were riding in struck a pole and crashed into a flower shop in North Toledo.
Mr. Rowan, 42, and Ms. Crawford, 47, both of Toledo, were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to Toledo police. Mr. Rowan was listed in fair condition while Ms. Crawford’s condition was unavailable, a hospital spokesman said.
The car was southbound on Lagrange Street near East Pearl Street about 6:34 a.m. when the driver felt sick, light headed, and possibly blacked out, police said, citing the driver’s account of what had happened.
The car drove off the right side of the road, swerved to the left, and struck a metal utility pole with the rear part of its left side. The vehicle then rotated counterclockwise and struck the brick exterior of Blessed Blossoms Flower Shop at 3365 Lagrange, police said.
No one in the street or in the store was hurt.
