The Toledo Area Humane Society is to hold its annual Bark in the Park -- Walk for the Animals today at Arrowhead Park.
The event, sponsored by Karnik, opens at 9 a.m., registration begins at 10, and the 1.5-mile walk kicks off at 11. Anyone who raises $25 or more receives a commemorative T-shirt. Dogs are encouraged to participate, but they must be on leashes.
Family-friendly activities including carnival style games, dog contests, music, and food are scheduled.
In a new feature this year, supporters can go online at toledoareahumanesociety.org and create their own Bark in the Park walk Web site to upload pictures of their furry friends and send requests for pledges to friends and relatives through email or Facebook.
