5 from Mich. injured in multicar collision
Five people from Michigan were treated Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital for minor injuries after their car was involved in a chain collision when vehicles were slowing for traffic on I-475 near the Salisbury Road exit in Maumee, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes when the car of Ronnie Corbell struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Connie Barker, 65, of Swanton, pushing her vehicle into the median, troopers said.
Mr. Corbell's sedan continued in the lane, hitting the stopped tractor-trailer rig operated by Donald Lawrence, 57, of Taylor, Mich.
Mr. Corbell, 35, of Brooklyn, Mich., and his passengers, Ethan Corbell, 5, of Brooklyn, Brooke Corbell, 14, of Jackson, Derek Corbell, 33, of Clinton, Mich., and Tanya Hamilton, 36, of Ypsilanti, were transported to the hospital in Maumee, troopers said.
