Estate disputes to be topic of talk

MONROE -- Monroe County Probate Judge Frank Arnold is to give a presentation Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. on wills, trusts, and deeds at the Frenchtown Senior Center, 2786 Vivian Rd. He is to discuss estate disputes and how they can be prevented through proper planning. Judge Arnold also is to hold a question-and-answer session.

In other news, Anthony Brescol, a Lambertville lawyer who seeks Judge Arnold's seat, has picked up endorsements from the Monroe County Deputy Sheriff Association and Ironworkers Local #55.

Two other contenders -- Jill LaVoy and Melissa G. Matiash -- are in the race for the probate court seat, to which Judge Arnold was appointed by former Gov. Jennifer Granholm. They will appear on the Aug. 7 primary ballot, and the two with the highest number of votes will face off in November.
