Cat rescue group schedules fund-raiser

Paws and Whiskers cat shelter is to be host for a fund-raiser in its parking lot, 32 Hillwyck Drive, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The event is to feature a book and baked-goods sale, a 50-50 raffle, and items for sale from the Krafting for Kitties volunteers such as handmade pet beds, catnip toys, eyeglass cases, dish towels, and dog collar covers.

The shelter had high veterinary bills in August because of an outbreak of the calici virus.
