DELTA, Ohio — Fulton County sheriff’s deputies have identified Katie Roberts and Justin Roberts as the man and woman whose bodies were found Saturday in a Swancreek Township yard.

The deaths of Mr. Roberts, 30, of Fulton County’s Swancreek Township, and Ms. Roberts, 24, of North Summit Street, Toledo, were being investigated as a murder-suicide, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. The victims were married in May but were separated at the time of the incident, deputies said.

Deputies were called to check on the welfare of a property in the 2000 block of County Road 6 about 4:05 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Roberts lived at the property which is near Delta, the sheriff’s office said.

When deputies arrived, they found the bodies in the yard. The also recovered a 22-caliber rifle and a knife from the scene.

Autopies will be performed by the Lucas County coroner’s office.

The victims marriage license identifies Mr. Roberts as a Delta truck driver and Ms. Roberts as a Toledo student.

Carl Baldwin, a neighbor, said the couple had not lived there long.

“They kept to themselves,” he said.

A woman, who answered the door at the property where the bodies were found, refused to comment.

Fulton County deputies were assisted by deputies from Henry and Lucas counties, the Ohio Highway Patrol, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
