Owens’ Findlay site to collect winter coats

BLADE STAFF

FINDLAY — A coat collection for the needy, sponsored by the Student Nurses’ Association and Child Care Center at the Owens Community College campus in Findlay, starts today and will continue through Nov. 1.

New and “gently used” winter jackets and coats may be dropped off in the Child Care Center, Nursing Laboratory, or atrium at the Findlay campus, on Bright Road. Donations will be delivered to Chopin Hall, a community-outreach charity representing 42 churches in the Findlay area, for distribution.

“There are many people throughout the surrounding region who are in need of assistance, whether the help comes in the form of a coat or other basic needs,” said James Katzner, Owens’ manager of student activities and conduct at the Findlay campus.
