About 75 Toledo Edison customers in the greater Toledo area, including in Oregon and Northwood, were left without power today when heavy winds brought along by superstorm Sandy downed some power lines, a utility spokesman said.

Utility were crews working to repair the damage. Power to all of the affected areas was expected to be restored later today.

AEP Ohio reported for the most part it was spared major outage issues due to the forecasted weather conditions. Western Ohio has 156 customers without power in the Lima and Willard areas, the utility reported. Restoration of service should be completed before noon today, the company reported.

Winds and waves brought by the storm were reportedly the heaviest in the Marblehead area but no damage was reported  as of about 8:30 a.m., according to the Marblehead station of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Area law enforcement agents reported no weather-related injury crashes.
