Toledo’s tortoise soaks up the sunshine
After spending months indoors to keep warm, Emerson can now catch some rays. The Toledo Zoo’s 100-year-old, 450-pound Galapagos tortoise was moved from the Ziems Conservatory to his new digs, which are just down a winding pathway. He has an enviable view, with his exhibit at the rear of the formal gardens. The neighbors, though, the gorillas, could be a tad on the noisy side at times.
