Monroe committee to discuss founding of dog park

BLADE STAFF

The Friends of the Monroe Dog Run meets from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the St. Mary Catholic Church parish life center, 151 N. Monroe St.

The committee, which meets the second Friday of each month, is working with Monroe city officials on plans to help fund the design, construction, and maintenance of a dog-run area at Munson Park. The dog run is to be between the main entrance and the skate park, near South Custer Road. Dog owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Donations are payable to the Community Foundation of Monroe County, 28 S. Macomb St., Monroe, Mich. The check memo should say “Monroe Dog Run.” For additional information, call 313-333-6608.
