Two TARTA bus passengers were injured tonight after a tow truck crashed into the back of a TARTA bus at West Central Avenue and Talmadge Road, Jim Gee, TARTA general manager, said.
“The bus was turning left (onto Central) and the tow truck hit the bus (from behind),” Mr. Gee said. He said he understood that the two injured people were transported to a local hospital.
A dispatcher for the Toledo Police Department had no information about the two who were reportedly injured, but said the call came in as an injury report. She said crews were still on the scene of the collision, which occurred about 5 p.m.
The tow truck driver was cited for the crash, Mr. Gee said. About 15 passengers were on the bus.
Names and details were not immediately available.
