Louie, the seven and one-half foot tall, 5,600-pound bull elephant at the Toledo Zoo, celebrated his birthday Saturday at the zoo. Spectatorys watched as he received the gift of a termite mound full of popcorn and some apples. The Zoo Teens, volunteers with the zoo, made the cardboard mound. The 40-pound cake which he will receive later is made of polenta, and is decorated with fruits and vegetables. When born, he stood about 37 inches high and weighed about 300 pounds.
