Howe drops out of race for municipal court seat

BLADE STAFF

The Lucas County Board of Elections on Thursday approved a request by Joseph Howe of Toledo to officially withdraw as a candidate for Toledo Municipal Court judge.

Mr. Howe, whose name will not appear on the Nov. 5 ballot, did not indicate why he was withdrawing from the race. Mr. Howe was one of the candidates vying for the position held by Judge Michael R. Goulding, who is seeking re-election.

Judge Goulding, a Republican, has held the position for six years. The other candidates are Gretchen DeBacker, Joshua Lanzinger, and Kenneth Phillips.
