2 national rap artists pledge money for Tiffin funerals

BLADE STAFF

TIFFIN – Two major rap artists have pledged to donate $10,000 each to a Tiffin woman whose five children and boyfriend were killed in a mobile home fire Sunday.

Drake, a rap artist, posted on Instagram on Tuesday a photo of Anna Angel, her children, and boyfriend with “$22,500 Ana Angel Tiffin Ohio” written on it.

Hours later, rapper The Game, reposted the photo with the caption, “Meet Ana Angel, a mother of 5 who lost her 5 children & her boyfriend (father of her youngest) in a house fire early Sunday morning in Tiffin, Ohio. I can deal with a lot of things but people losing their children is something that kills me every time. Ana Angel was working her shift at Burger King when she was informed by her manager Pat Boes that her home had burnt down with her family inside & no one survived.

The Game said he and Drake each offered to donate $10,000 – with a $2,500 donation from the producers of The Game's reality dating show – to help offset funeral costs and the cost of a new vehicle for Ms. Angel, 30.

Keith Hodkinson, a spokesman for Ms. Angel, said he has spoken with The Game and his publicist. As of Tuesday night, they had discussed details of the donation, expected to total $22,500, but funds had not yet been sent.

The donation is part of The Game's The Robin Hood Project, in which he, earlier this month, pledged to donate $1 million of his own money to people who need it.

As of this morning, representatives of The Game had not returned e-mails seeking comment.

Mr. Hodkins said an account, the Anna Angel Donation Fund, has been set up at US Bank and, as of Tuesday night, had collected almost $16,000.

Killed in the fire were Ms. Angel's boyfriend, Timothy Fresch, 25, their young son Domonic Fresch, 1, and Ms. Angel's other children: Trinitie Huey, 4; Sunshine Huey, 3; Stormie Huey, 5; and Tiara Angel, 6.

Ms. Angel had been at work at Burger King for about two hours when she found out about the fire at the Highland Trailer Park home where her family lived.

The fire appears to have been accidental, officials have said.
