Drivers traveling through Perrysburg and Sylvania Township should keep an eye out for detours throughout the next few days.
Traffic patterns at the I-75/475 interchange in Perrysburg will change throughout the weekend as the interchange ramps begin to reopen.
From 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday, lanes might be closed on the ramp from southbound I-75 to I-475.
From 12:01 a.m. Friday until 5 a.m., the ramp from northbound I-475 to State Rt. 25 (Exit 2) will be closed for a traffic pattern change.
By 6 a.m. Friday, drivers should be able to use the new northbound ramp from I-475 to SR 25.
Overnight Friday from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. Saturday, southbound I-75 from U.S. 20 to Roachton Road, may be reduced to one lane as traffic patterns are shifted.
By 6 a.m. Saturday, the new ramp from southbound I-75 to I-475 will be open.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and continuing through Tuesday, the ramps from northbound I-75 to I-475 and the ramp from I-475 to northbound I-75 will open.
All work is weather permitting.
Meanwhile, the northbound ramps to and from Central Avenue will close for the next six days to allow for removal of sections of the old ramps in construction of the new bridge over I-475/U.S. 23 in Sylvania Township.
The exit ramp from Central to north I-475/U.S. 23 and the ramp from the expressway’s northbound lanes to Central will close at 9 p.m. Saturday and reopen at 6 a.m. Sept. 23.
After the work is completed, traffic will shift onto the new Central bridge and approaches, said Theresa Pollick, Ohio Department of Transportation spokesman.
“This is a big milestone in the project. It means we are getting closer to reducing congestion in the area and improving safety,” she said.
