Film, discussion to address suicide

The social services nonprofit Toledo & Northwest Ohio Cornucopia is hosting a screening of a documentary featuring stories of suicide attempt survivors, followed by a panel discussion with the film’s director and a remembrance ceremony.

Inspired By Grace, a prevention program of the Cornucopia, will screen The S Word at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Carpenters Union Hall, 9278 Bass Pro Blvd., in Rossford. A resource fair will precede the movie at 5 p.m., and the panel discussion with director Lisa Klein and local suicide prevention experts will begin after the film.

The event is intended to open the conversation about suicide and the factors that increase a person’s risk for suicide. The evening will close with a remembrance ceremony from 9 to 9:30 p.m.

The event is free, though a $5 donation to the program is suggested. Contact Jan Burgard-Moore for more information at 419-481-1225 or hopes42morrow@gmail.com.
