Raging E. Toledo industrial fire claims 3 lives, injures 5
A welder’s torch ignited fumes at the Interlake Steel Company, 2401 Front Street in East Toledo June 25, 1969, touching off a series of tank explosions and a raging fire that left three workers dead and five people injured, including two firemen. Toledo Blade photographer Lloyd Ramson captured the scene as thick, billowing smoke poured from the plant. (more...)
