Tigers lose pitcher Nathan for season
DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers today said right-handed relief pitcher Joe Nathan underwent an MRI at the Detroit Medical Center on Wednesday which revealed a UCL tear and a flexor pronator tear. He will undergo season-ending surgery at a later date.

Nathan injured in Mud Hens loss
For nine pitches, Joe Nathan’s rehab assignment with the Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field Wednesday went according to script. There was no pain in his right arm, he was throwing strikes, and the first two Louisville batters in the seventh inning had nothing but weak swings against him.
