Defiance Stamping outgrows its factory
DEFIANCE — A metal stamping business that has been in Defiance for nearly 90 years is moving 15 miles downriver to Napoleon after outgrowing its shop and being unable to find a new building large enough to support its growth, economic development officials said Wednesday.

Children can get free lead testing this week
This is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, and the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is highlighting its free testing program for children. The free lead testing walk-in hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the health department’s downtown office, 635 N. Erie St.

Toledo man sentenced to prison for escape
A Toledo man who was on probation for breaking into an elderly woman’s home in 2012 was sentenced Wednesday to 30 months in prison for leaving his home without permission while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet that monitored his movements.

Health officials set date to be clear from Ebola
Ohio Health Department officials monitoring people who might have been exposed to Ebola said those people will be clear of the disease if they remain healthy through Nov. 4. After that, the 21-day incubation period for the virus will have passed, meaning the exposure did not cause an infection, they said.
