One person was shot in the upper left thigh in South Toledo today, police said.
The name of the male victim was not immediately available, but people at the scene who know him say he is in his late teens.
Police said that witnesses reported hearing arguing and then anywhere from five to eight gunshots near Spencer Street and Prouty Avenue about 3:50 p.m.
The victim was found lying near the side of a house in the 1400 block of Prouty, according to initial reports.
The victim was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, by emergency crews. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said witnesses gave conflicting reports of suspect and vehicle descriptions.
