Human-trafficking battle gets an assist
Ohio officials, members of local law enforcement, and advocates for victims of human trafficking gathered Monday to call on the U.S. Department of Justice for funding to combat trafficking in Northwest Ohio. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and other officials spoke at a news conference at the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. The push comes after the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015, which allows for grants to increase resources for combating trafficking and recovery for those leaving trafficking.
