Unfamiliar drivers at fault in work zones
City and state officials renewed their pleas Tuesday for drivers to slow down and pay attention in work zones, while an Ohio Highway Patrol commander said the primary problem has been with out-of-towners. The biggest traffic violators and most of the crashes in the trouble-plagued I-75 construction zone in Wood County have been drivers from outside the area, Lt. Jerrod Savidge, commander of the patrol’s Bowling Green post, said while taking Jerry Wray, director of the Ohio Department of Transportation, on a tour of freeway work zones in Wood and Lucas counties.
