Cheaper gas is good news, bad news for TARTA
Cheaper fuel helped the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority’s budget during 2015 but undercut its ridership, the agency’s general manager told its board of trustees Thursday. The impact a mid-year, 25-percent fare increase had on ridership was less obvious to assess, James Gee said in an interview after the board meeting. “It’s hard to say,” Mr. Gee said. “That took effect at the same time the general ridership trend was down because of gas prices.”
