Toledo year in review 2014
Forty-seven years after San Francisco’s Summer of Love, Toledo had what can best be described as the Summer of Algae. Although 2014 began with a bang — one of the roughest winters in memory — the story that really put Toledo in the international spotlight was an all-too-familiar green menace. Western Lake Erie’s algae grew thicker and thicker as summer kicked in and fouled tap water for the metro region’s 500,000 residents.
