UT women fall to Eastern Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. ---Eastern Michigan crushed the University of Toledo, 54-33, in an important women's basketball match up Tuesday evening at the Convocation Center.
With the win, EMU (20-7, 12-2) separates itself from the Rockets (18-8, 11-3) atop the West division of the Mid-American Conference.
UT turned the ball over 28 times, made 1 of 13 3-pointers, and hit 6 of 14 from the free-throw line. Yolanda Richardson led the Rockets with 18 points, nine rebounds and six blocks.
EMU's Tavelyn James, the nation's second-leading scorer, had 20 points --- 14 of which came in the second half.
UT's chances of securing a guaranteed spot in the semifinals of the MAC tournament have all but disappeared. It would need either EMU or Bowling Green to lose twice for that to happen.
