Mud Hens down Red Sox 5-3

The Mud Hens scored five runs in the first three innings and hung on to claim a 5-3 victory over Pawtucket at Fifth Third Field today.

Doug Fister, on a rehab start from Detroit, allowed just two hits and one walks in four shutout innings, striking out five. The rest of the bullpen -- Austin Wood, Zach Miner, Jose Ortega and Chris Bootcheck -- held the Red Sox in check the rest of the way during the evening game, with Ortega earning the win and Bootcheck the save.

Ryan Strieby hit a two-run homer in the first, Justin Henry had a two-run single in the second and Omir Santos added a third-inning sacrifice fly for Toledo's runs.
