SEMICH: Bedford tops Jefferson to secure playoff spot

Bed­ford 55,Mon­roe Jef­fer­son 13

TEMPERANCE — Five Mules ran for at least 60 yards, part of a 449-yard per­for­mance on the ground that helped Bed­ford se­cure a post­sea­son berth.

Brad Boss led Bed­ford (6-3) with 10 car­ries for 126 yards and a 69-yard TD. Weston Swick (eight car­ries, 68 yards) had TD runs of eight and 43 yards. Alec Hull­ibarger scored on six and seven-yard runs.

Bran­don Sun­day (three car­ries, 68 yards) scored on a 54-yard run. Jon Shep­herd had eight car­ries for 58 yards and a TD. Ja­cob Shackle also scored for Bed­ford, which led 14-13 in the sec­ond quar­ter be­fore scor­ing the fi­nal 41 points.

Bliss­field 20, Ida 8

BLISSFIELD — Kyle Rus­sell got Ida off to a fast start with an 85-yard touch­down run to open the scor­ing, but af­ter that it was all Bliss­field.

Brad Lietzke coun­tered Rus­sell’s TD with a six-yard TD run in the first quar­ter, while Zech Bo­s­tick and Luke Cas­sau­bon added scor­ing runs in the sec­ond half.

The Roy­als (5-4 over­all, 5-2 Le­newee County Ath­letic As­so­cia­ton) were led on the ground by Lee Kein­ath’s 78 yards. Rus­sell fin­ished with 126 yards for Ida (5-4, 3-4).

White­ford 20,Adrian Madi­son 6

OTTAWA LAKE— White­ford used a bal­anced rush­ing at­tack to help win its eighth game of the year.

Brian Tab­bert car­ried nine times for 71 yards and an eight-yard TD run. Tyler Lee car­ried 14 times for 82 yards and a six-yard TD run, while Colin Lake added 88 yards on 14 car­ries.

Gabe LaRoy con­nected with Troy Diller on a 34-yard TD pass. LaRoy fin­ished with 151 yards pass­ing on 10 com­ple­tions. Diller caught 6 passes for 109 yards for the Bob­cats (8-1).

Wal­ter Carter-Tho­mas scored Adrian Madi­son’s only TD on a six-yard run.

Sum­mer­field 28, Whit­more Lake 20

Josh Gol­k­ie­w­icz paced Sum­mer­filed (5-4) with 165 yards rush­ing on 23 car­ries on the way to the Bull­dogs’ fifth vic­tory.

Gol­k­ie­w­icz scored three touch­downs on runs of nine, two, and 10 yards. Lu­cas Diver added 133 yards on 9-18 pass­ing and a 26-yard TD strike to Steve Schankin.

Dy­lan St. Char­les scored all three TDs for Whit­more Lake with rush­ing scores from one and 48 yards out and a 20 yard touch­down pass.
