Notes: The Falcons open the 2012-13 season with a home game against Lake Erie, a Division II team located in the Cleveland suburb of Painesville, Ohio. … Last season the Storm posted a 10-16 record, including a 5-14 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. … Four starters are back for Lake Erie, which was picked to finish sixth in the GLIAC’s South Division this season. The Rockets have lost four in a row to Loyola, including a 57-55 setback last year at Savage Arena. That was the first meeting between the teams since 1985. ... This is a homecoming of sorts for UT’s Delino Dear (Chicago), Julius Brown (Markham, Ill.), and Nathan Boothe (Gurnee, Ill.) ... Loyola returns three starters from last year’s squad that finished 7-23 and 1-17 in the Horizon League. ... Senior forward Ben Averkamp averaged 15.4 ppg and 7.1 rpg and torched UT for a career-high 31 points. ASU won both of its exhibition games, 86-46 over Ouachita Baptist and 61-43 over UA-Monticello. ... UT, which is picked to win the MAC tournament title, beat Wayne State 73-47 in its final tune-up for the regular season.
