Today’s games: Prairie View A&M (2-5) vs. Hampton (7-3) at 4:30 p.m.; Toledo (8-1) vs. Evansville (2-7) at 7 p.m.

Friday’s games: Prairie View A&M/Hampton vs. Evansville at 4:30 p.m.; Toledo vs. Prairie View A&M/Hampton at 7 p.m.

TV: Toledo’s game Thursday will be aired on BCSN

Series: UT leads Evansville 3-1, Hampton 2-0, and has never played Prairie View A&M

Notes: This is the second of two inaugural invitationals hosted by the Rockets this season. They were victorious at the Glass City Tournament this month. ... UT received two votes in the latest Associated Press poll. ... Evansville, the former school of Toledo coach Tricia Cullop, has lost six games in a row. Khristian Hart leads the Purple Aces in scoring with 15 points per game, and center Samantha Heck and forward Meagan Collins contribute 14.7 and 11.1, respectively. ... UT is off to its best start since the 1996-97 team also started 8-1. ... Hampton, which has won three in a row, is led by forward Keiara Avant (16.2 ppg). ... Prairie View A&M is led by guards Latia Williams and Kiara Etienne, both whom average 15.7 ppg.
