Nine bouts are scheduled today at the Toledo Club’s annual amateur boxing night in the Centennial Room of the group’s facility in downtown Toledo.
Local amateur boxing teams represented include Toledo’s International Boxing Club, the Fremont Wreckers, Mansfield’s Ohio Boxing Club, and the Putnam County Boxing Club.
Amateur fighters from Ohio State, the University of Michigan, and Miami University will also participate. Collegiate amateurs have not taken part in the event before.
Tickets for the dinner-and-boxing event cost $149.
“Part of it is a fundraiser for the club, and I think it’s one of the signature events for our club,” said Russ Wozniak, Toledo Club membership director.
