The Marathon Classic, an LPGA Tour stop scheduled for July 18-21 at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, announced Thursday that three standout golfers have committed to participate.
Toledo native Stacy Lewis, the 2012 LPGA Player of the Year, will join former champions Paula Creamer and Se Ri Pak in the newly named $1.3 million tournament.
Formerly known as the Jamie Farr Classic since its inception in 1984, the Marathon Classic — presented by Owens Corning and Owens-Illinois Inc. — also released its newly designed logo. The Marathon Petroleum symbol is atop a red, white, and blue theme, which includes the bottom dimples of a golf ball.
Ticket, sponsorship, and volunteer information for the 2013 event is available at marathonclassic.com or by calling the tournament office at 419-531-3277.
