DETROIT - Pavel Datsyuk's third-period goal helped the Red Wings to a 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at Joe Louis Arena in Game 3 of a Western Conference semifinal.
Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller scored 31 seconds apart in the second for the Red Wings, after Chicago controlled the puck for the bulk of the first five minutes of the period.
Patrick Kane cut Detroit's lead to 2-1 at 4:35 of the second but Datsyuk gave the Red Wings a 3-1 lead on a shot from the left circle a minute after officials waved off Patrick Sharp's goal, ruling that he was in the crease when he shot the puck.
Corey Crawford made 27 saves for Chicago and Jimmy Howard made 39 saves for Detroit.
Game 4 is at 8 p.m. Thursday at Joe Louis Arena.
