Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo swept the Mid-American Conference men's basketball player of the week awards, the league announced today.
BG's Richaun Holmes was named East Division player of the week, while Toledo's Rian Pearson won the same award for the West Division.
Holmes had back-to-back career-best scoring games for the Falcons last week. He scored 18 points and added seven rebounds and five blocked shots in BG's win over Western Kentucky Dec. 2, then scored 26 points to go with nine rebounds and five blocks in an overtime loss at Xavier Saturday.
Pearson helped UT to a pair of wins last week, scoring a career-high 30 points to go with eight rebounds in a win over Detroit Dec. 4, then led the Rockets with 19 points while adding seven boards in a win at Robert Morris Saturday.
