Toledo Walleye promotional schedule

As part of a host of promotional events, the Walleye will once again host a Holiday Hockey fest to benefit a paralyzed local high school hockey player.

The event will be Dec. 26 at the Huntington Center. It features four youth teams and eight high schools that will compete in a day-long fundraiser.

The Holiday Hockey fest benefits Kyle Cannon, a senior at Clay High School who was paralyzed after a hit during a game in November of 2008.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and will feature the following games: Ottawa Hills vs. Lake, Springfield vs. Eastwood, Anthony Wayne vs. Maumee, and Clay vs. Perrysburg.

Other highlights of the team's promotional schedule include a "Fish Tailgate Party" on opening night, a Meet Santa day on Dec. 11, and Hockey Heritage Night on Jan. 28. The traditional Pink in the Rink event will be held at two games, March 2 and March 4.

The organization will also hold its annual morning School Celebration Day as well as Boy Scout and Girl Scout sleepovers.
